Our Pupil Learning Sequence in Science and the Foundation Subjects.

At St Paul's Catholic Primary School, AV, our curriculum offer is based on pupils learning, over time, key knowledge and aquiring key life skills. We track pupil learning as they travel through school to ensure our spiral curriculum builds on previous knowledge. We sometimes call this 'sticky knowledge' as it is what we want the children to remember when they move onto KS3 and beyond into adulthood. Our main two 'feeder' high schools, Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School and Allerton High School, both report favourably on how well our children are prepared for the next stage of their educational journey. Our children thrive at St Paul's Catholic Primary School, VA.

At St Paul's Catholic Primary School, VA, we are proud to offer a broad, balanced and exciting school curriculum. We do not 'narrow' our learning journey to chase unrealistic test scores and results in English and Maths. Children enjoy coming to school here because of the varied curriculum offer they receive.

Below are our pupil learning sequences for Science and the Foundation subjects. These documents help our pupils to remember key learning topics as they travel through school. They are new for 2026 and will be adapted and improved over time.
