Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

The children have returned to school full of enthusiasm after the holidays. They have settled well into Year 4 and have had a very positive attitude to everything we have done. We look forward to all our learning opportunities this year and will try to share our experiences with you on this page. Mrs Twohey and Mrs McGurk

First Holy Communion

We would like to thank Fr Tim for celebrating Mass with our Holy Communion children this morning.

Health Week

What a fantastic  week! We have lots of opportunities to try different activities and really enjoyed all the experiences on offer. Well done all the children who challenged themselves to achieve their best.

We had an exciting day with the music man. We learnt about sound and even got to make our own instruments.

Make it fly

We made our own aeroplanes, helicopters and gliders and tested which could fly the furthest. Which do you think would win?

Design a dinosaur

We have looked at different dinosaurs and have designed our own special dinosaurs.


Dinosaur Habitats

We found natural resources to create a habitat for our dinosaurs.

Dinosaur Week

We couldn't believe what had happened when we came into school on Tuesday. We had an exciting time investigating the scene.

Skipping Competition

Year 4 took part in a skipping competition at CHCHs on Wednesday. Although we didn't win we performed well and enjoyed the event.

A Roman Adventure

We braved the cold to launch our new topic and find out as much as possible about the life of a Roman soldier. Our visit to Murton Park was very interesting and enjoyable. We learnt so much.

Class Mass and Priest's Visit

Year 4 have been lucky enough to have visits from both our priests. Fr Josh popped in after celebrating our class Mass and Fr Tim came to answer some of our questions on the bible.

Our visit to Nell Bank 

The weather was fabulous for our outdoor activities. We started the day  with problem solving and team building challenges. We had to work together and be resilient and persever in order for us to achieve. After lunch we did Orienteering, that was great fun. Den building was our last challenge. We all worked together constructing different designed shelters.

Year 4 Assembly

We thoroughly enjoyed presenting our assembly on Thursday. Our focus was on friendship and we thought about the qualities we value in a friend. We know we are much happier when we have friends to share things with.

Rewind to Christmas

We had an exciting start to our week as we attended Rewyind to Christmas at The Moortown Baptist Church. We heard the true story of Christmas and talked to some of the characters who were there.
