World Book Day
St. Paul's fully embraced 'World Book Day' today. Our theme was 'bedtime stories', thus the children came donned in PJ's, slippers and dressing gowns ready for bedtime. Parent volunteers were invited into school to read favourite stories to groups and classes of children. The pupils enjoyed the opportunity to visit other classes and share paired reading time with children of different ages. Lots of lovely reading took place during DEAR time - Drop Everything And Read time. In the afternoon children had the chance to swap books with each other and take home a different exciting book to read and share with parents. Mrs Walker kindly organised a 'Where's Wally Competition' and the children had fantastic fun searching all around school! And then, to finish the exciting busy day, pupils and parents were invited to join in 'storytelling time' in the library after school. Many thanks to the volunteers who came into school and helped to bring books alive, celebrating World Book Day.
