A few weeks ago Rebecca brought some caterpillars to school so we could have a close look at them. Today she brought them back but they had changed into butterflies. We released them into our wildlife garden.
A few drops of rain can't dampen our spirits! What a wonderful day in Filey!
This afternoon we walked even further, down to David Lloyd Leisure centre. We took part in lots of different games ~ it was fun!
We started our day with another Wake up Shake up in the playground. We then worked with the PE coaches taking part in games outside.
We have set ourselves a challenge to walk or ru a mile every day this week. Hot work!
What a busy day! We started this morning with a "Wake up Shake up" session on the playground. After our assembly on soccer tricks with Ash Randall we had a visitor from St John's Ambulance who told us how to make en emergency call and how to put someone into the recovery position. We had some time to design our sandcastles for Filey before we tried to learn a football trick. At last we had time to go on our bikes and we finished our day by walking a mile.
What a busy afternoon! We had yummy buns, lots of jumble and the golden ticket prizes. We loved dipping our marshmallows! And lots of children had a go at roll a penny and shots in with our goalie.
Today we learnt how precious water is. In some parts of the world children have to walk long distances to collect water for their families. We had a special visitor, Gary, who told us about the wonderful work Water Aid and Cafod do to help people. We are helping too.
We carried buckets of water to see what it felt like. It was tricky to balance the bucket and our bucket wasn't even full. Some children have to do this job every day, carrying heavy buckets of water for long distances.
We were very lucky today as we had a visit from FR. Tim. He told us all about he vestments the priest wears at Mass and the significance of the colours used during each season.
We had a magical experience at the Rainbow factory today. We took part in drama, art and musical activities and we even had the opportunity to write our own stories!
We enjoyed making our healthy vegetable salad and we enjoyed eating it too! Yum!
Today we learnt how to keep ourselves safe as we cross the road.
We have been busy looking for minibeasts and their habitats in the woods.
We are following in the footsteps of Andy Goldsworthy creating our own art from natural resources. Do you like our minibeasts?
Who is eating the plants in Harlow Carr Gardens? Acting as detectives we were on a mission to find out. What a fun day!
We had a super morning looking for minibeasts. We looked closely and described our minibeasts then we drew them. We remembered to treat them kindly and put them back into their homes when we finished.
