Jamie Oliver trip
On Tuesday morning Y3 set off on their eagerly awaited school trip to Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant in Leeds City Centre. This launched their new class topic of 'Food'. The children had a really interesting day learning about healthy eating and all the different types of traditional Italian foods. The pupils learnt the importance of growing fruits and vegetables and were set the challenge of over the summer holidays growing their very own avocado. Making fresh pasta was the highlight of the trip and each child took home a small nest of tagliatelle, with strict instructions from the chef...... 1 minute only, cooking time needed! The class had a fantastic time, many thanks to Jamie Oliver's Leeds for accommodating us.
