Guest speakers from the charity CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development) visited St. Paul's today in preparation for our annual CAFOD Lenten appeal, which will begin in earnest on the 6th March. This year's theme is 'Take the Give It Up Challenge'. We heard a true story of a young boy (Rabiul) in Bangladesh, whose family often go without food or easy access to clean drinking water. St. Paul's pupils were asked to pray for the needy throughout the world and encouraged to give up treats this Lent, giving the money saved to CAFOD or raise money by getting sponsorship for giving up a favourite activity (e.g. computer games). Hopefully we have all been inspired to do marvellous things this coming Lent.
