9/3/16 We had so much fun playing with the chicks this afternoon. They were running all over trying to escape and trying to fly!
The chicks have returned to school looking very happy and healthy. A huge THANK YOU to Alice's family for looking after them so well over the weekend!
4/3/16 12:30pm: Chick number 7 hatched at lunch time! Year 6 were here when it happened and wanted to name it Cheeper because it came out making lots of noise!
4/3/16 The chicks have been weighed for the first time this morning. It was a bit trick because they are very fidgety and eager to jump around.
Teddy is the lightest, he is 38 grams. His legs aren't working very well yet so we are ringing the farmer today to see if we can help him.
Sparkles is the heaviest, he is 43 grams and is usually found near the food bowl.
Alice's family will be looking after the chicks for the weekend... we hope they behave!
3/3/16 4pm: 4 of the chicks have been moved in to their new home after their first 24hrs in the incubator. We now have to feed them every day and top up the water regularly.
Our new arrivals have been named:
Wednesday (Born on Wednesday)
Midnight (Born during the night)
Bookie (Born on World Book Day)
3.3.16 9.50am: Number 6 hatched during assembly! We now have 4 fluffy chicks, 1 that is a little bit fluffy and number 6 who is still very wet!
We will be naming them today and moving some of them out of the incubator and in to their new home!

2/3/16 3.40pm: Number 3 has hatched!
2/3/16 - 2:45pm: And there is another arrival as a second chick has managed to make it's way out of the shell! Egg-citement indeed!
2/3/16 - 1:30pm: We have our first chick! One brave little chick has managed to peck and scratch it's way out of the egg and is now being surrounded by dozens of very excited little children (and a few emotional adults!).
1/3/16 12:35 - the eggs have been rolling around this morning and so far we have seen 1 tiny crack on 1 of the eggs!
The eggs have arrived! Ooh the egg-citement in Year 1 this afternoon .
The eggs are staying warm in the incubator, we are hoping to hear some little shells cracking on Wednesday or Thursday!
29th February - we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our Living Eggs...we will update this page daily with more information about our eggs!
